Subject: I share your grief
Jerry brought me so much happiness and emotion for the last
twenty years. I've been moved to tears of joy countless times
just by listening to him play. In some of my darkest times,
he brought me peace and then helped me find the light of living again.
May you, his family, be comforted by knowing how much this wonderful,
singular soul reached the souls of many, many others. I shed tears of
sorrow with you now.

All I can say is that I'm so, so sorry. He was a good man and
you can't say that about many people. He touched more lives
and brought more joy intothe world than most could ever hope
to do. He had his flaws, but they were far outnumbered by his
beautiful heart and soul that burst forth into the world and
all of our hearts
God Bless You All, his family, the band, his friends,

In my sorrow-induced selfishness yesterday, I sent my condolences
to the Garcia family, but not to the other members of the band.
To the other band members and crew, I'm sorry about the loss of
your brother. It must be devastating. My prayers are with you.
Micky, Bob, Phil, Bill, Vince-I think that you know Jerry would want you
to play on. He was (and is) a genius, but you are all geniuses. You
and Jerry took us all to great heights. I haven't seen you since '88
(I'm an aging head), but still always listening...

Subject: The Music Never Stops
Every time one of a hundred thousand people wake up in the morning
with a riff or lyric phrase ringing in their minds, The Grateful Dead
and Garcia will grow more eternally alive. Some people have a unique
talent to communicate, others to touch lives through art and music.
Jerry Garcia had it all, and we'll have what he gave us forever.
I was never a Deadhead, only saw 2 shows, but always knew how
special a gift the man possessed. He gave it to us, and we're so
much better off for it. Thank You!

Jerry,
I am totally grateful for the love and music you shared with all
of us. You changed my life, brought us all closer together, and helped
heal our wounded planet. In a world full of noise, you brought us the
sound of heaven, and you will never be forgotten. Your spirit is
timeless, and centuries from now your music will sound even better.
Your inspiration will live for all future generations.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything, and I will
do my part to help continue your tradition. You are a true hero because
you made us all so incredibly happy. God bless you 'til the end of time.

Dear Members of Jerry's Inner Circle--
Jerry, as you all know, will be sorely missed.
But as we all know the show must go on, and we have
to keep on Truckin'!
He's Gone takes on new significance, as well as
Uncle John's Band, if you think about it. He is in
all our hearts and prayers.
Peace,
House

My heart is broken, my soul is weeping. This is a devistating
blow to all of us in the family of friends who identify so
strongly with not only the music of this gentle, beautiful man,
but also the ideals that he conveyed. The magnitude of this loss
is indescribable, the world is a lesser place without him. I
hope that this tragedy serves as a lesson to all of those who
continue to abuse their bodies. We have lost too many valuable
people this way. The world needs good, kind people like Jerry,
we can't afford to lose them in such a senseless way. My
thoughts are with you all in this time of terrible saddness-
Love & Peace,
Raychel

I probably attended 25 shows over twenty-one years. Jerry and the band
taught this introverted kid how to dance, how go with the flow, and how to
revel in joy. I am sad now, but will always be grateful.I never felt as
close with my friends as when at a show. Peace.

my ex-wife through a very difficult time in her life.
For this I thank all of you.
I only hope that you each have someone to help you through this.
Thank you

As a Grateful Dead fan, I am shocked to see the passing of such a fine
talent. His constant improvisations and his warm affectionate attitude to
everyone will always be in our hearts. I might not have ever traveled with
the Grateful Dead, but I've been to a number of concerts. His music will live
on for ever and ever. In my Valicdicdorian speech at my graduation, I
incorporated one of Jerry's most famous lines into my speech. With all the
chaos that has gone on in my school I just had to end with the infamous "What
A LONG Strange Trip It's Been"
We will all miss you Jerry.

I know my voice will be just one in the thousands of voices of sympathy
that will be received, so I send this to you as much for my pain as
yours, too.
We are all family in this thing called the Grateful Dead and I know my
pain at losing Jerry cannot be even close to the pain felt by those of
you who knew him and worked with him and lived with him on a daily
basis. But please know all of us out here are with you in your pain and
are experiencing with all of you our profound grief at our loss.
My pain is made even deeper by knowing that I will never again have the
experience of going to see the Grateful Dead play. All the feelings and
joy and zen that I have felt in the past when I've heard the music play
are now just memories to be cherished for a life time.
I have only felt saddess this deep in the past when losing my father and
brother. I know now I really have thought of the members of the band as
a part of my life and my family.
With all my love and caring I leave you now with this message.
Thanks for all the joy.

that is Jerry Garcia will live forever in the hearts and souls of those
of us who loved him and to whom he gave so much of himself.
