Listening to and seeing Jerry and the Grateful Dead with my friends are some of my
fondiest and happiest moments. Jerry's passing reminds me that life is continually
changing and that we most hold onto happy times and work towards others.

I am thankful to him for all the good times

thanks for the memories, jerry. I fel like I owe my love of music to
you, and your talent influenced how I perceived and enjoyed al
other forms of music. The world won't be the same without you, but
millions of people like myself are significantly richer from having
been able to experience your muse.

Rest in peace....Now I know when my time comes, the band in heaven
will really be rocking. I'm sure you and Bill Graham have already
found each other.

For 30 years you were my inspiration. Uplifting my spirits and infusing

me with the kind of energy which can not be described. You will be missed

but not forgotten as your spirit and music will live forever. Few people

attain immortality, you have Jerry. Goodbye Jerry

I never met the man called Jerry
But deep inside I felt I knew him

The music he so loved to play
would bring me up whenever I was down

It brought a tear to my eye when I heard
the news, and realized how much this man
called Jerry touched me and all who listened
to his sweat songs

The Lord layed rest to his soul
but his music will live on forever

I just wanted to send my condolences to
Jerry's family. Although I never met him,
I felt that he has done much for me during
my lifetime. Although I am saddened to
see him go, I am thankful that, while he
lived, he enriched the lives of many.

There are angels surrounding Jerry on his trip to the next world where he
will make them as happy with his being as he did for all of us. My
deepest sympathy to you, his family. If there can be some consolation in
knowing that his memory will live on forever. Jerry Garcia was a good
human being. May he rest in peace and love.

My old DEAD buddies & I were all commiserating over the NET last night. We
sadly realized that an era has passed, and a part of our childhoods (and
adult lives) is now over. We'll all miss Jerry terribly. Uncompromising
artistry is so rare in the rock music world today. It has just become much
rarer. Peace & love.

Hello. My name is Tim Hong. I've been a Deadhead since I went to my
first show in 1989 at the Rosemont Horizon. Since then, I have not gone
one day without feeling Jerry's and the Grateful Dead's influence as a major
guiding light in my life.
Jerry was like a painter on stage. Every time he performed, he created
something new -- something beautiful -- something living. I have
nothing but happy memmories of Jerry and I will surely miss his presence
for the rest of my life. He was such a inspiration to me and I will
forever be indebted to his contributions to us. Please accept my most
humble and sincerest condolences to Jerry's family and everyone who was
touched by his music. We will always love you and miss you, Jerry. God
bless you. Peace,

Timothy Hong

Guys, Girls, Folks,
I know you'll recieve a lot of messages, and the volume may say more
than the words they contain, but I want to put it on record. I was
uptight, and unhappy, and not contributing to anyone, which I justified
by trying to do no harm. My best friend, a guy I love as much, and
respect more, than my family, turned me on by just playing the music when
I was around. I grew into it, then I met the heads, then I caught the
bus. I learned the phrases, started to recognize the common symbols, and
felt a part of a community that I felt I could grow in. I tried selling
stuff, feeling out the ability to "do a tour". I was in Memphis, near the
Mississippi river, and got so happy, I ended up giving away the comic
books I brought to sell, and had a much better time. I'll miss the chance
to watch things go boom like they did at the good shows, and I'll have to
find new traditions, but I'm glad I saw what I saw, went where I went,
and grew how I grew. Jerry helped me lighten up, remember to say "I love
you" more often, and appreciate the journey as much as the destination. I
hope you'll be happy again soon.

My deepest simpthy to all...

Jerry has touched our lives for many years, have brought many
of my friends together.
We always smiled and had fun times whenever we traveled
to see him play.
He will be miseed by all of us who new his words and music.

Most of all we are glad he took time in his life to share himself
and his music, with his friends.

We are his friends forever and shed a tear of sorrow.

He will be deeply missed. He does not walk alone, we will be
with him again someday.
He will always be with us in our lives.

A distant friend,
Tom

I would always stand up with a feeling of reverence and respect when
Jerry came into a room or a stadium. He was a man who accomplished
transcendent things, a genius artist and a powerfully loving human being.
He and the other members of the band have been in my thoughts daily for 25
years. I am deeply sad and I hope we can find a way to continue,
appropriately as a family.

My love to Bob, Phil, Micky, Bill, Ramrod. You are wonderful people and
you make a very big difference in this world.
